We’re always moving forward, whether on the tracks we choose for ourselves, or on someone else’s tracks we’ve landed on aimlessly. The good news is that every day brings a new junction, and it’s never too late to change course.
When Covid-19 hit in 2020, our business dried up overnight. A pipeline full of the next 6 months’ work disappeared overnight. My dad froze his paychecks and went many months without taking home any pay at all.
The path ahead looked barren. He could have decided to shut down the business; it might have been the smart thing to do. The old way of delivering sales training was dead.
But we decided there might be another way forward instead. We brainstormed ways to meet our clients where they were. We figured out how to pivot into this new world of virtual delivery. We decided to work together full time and pull his wisdom into our new book.
And now, after four years on this wild and crazy ride together, we’re having more fun than we ever expected. We’re working with amazing clients every week. We’ve launched our new book.
Covid-19 caused us to face a junction, where we could either do things the same way as we’d always done – and continue forward into ruin – or we could turn a different way and forge ahead on a new and unknown path.
We’re never standing still; we’re always moving forward, whether on our own path or on the path laid out for us by our circumstances or other people.
But every day brings a new junction, and an opportunity to change course.
